Brief: New campaign required; product good – used by leading 2 wheeler brands like Hero Honda, Bajaj;  earlier campaign based on ‘Safety’ – can be continued or discontinued by Agency

Insights: Undertook market visits & found that Market perception was Srichakra Tyres (sub-brands Jaya, Kalyani) were delicate, side-walls not firm, hence weak vs competition ; (Technical view – flexible walls absorbed shock, they should not be firm)

Weaknesses: Imagery, awareness, feminine sub-brand name in masculine category; Strength: TVS a by-word for quality in auto spare parts circles

Solution: Leverage group name, re-launch as TVS Tyres

Result: Solution accepted and brand re-launched successfully

Identified problem in new campaign of MNC Beverage  and positioning

An MNC had launched a new campaign for its Milk Food beverage dropping its claim of a formulation with 23 unique ingredients and claiming its brand was 33% better than Brand ‘H.’ 

Had a key role in evaluating the new campaign through research. In addition to message comprehension, likeability etc.; it was found that the consumers’ brand portfolio included the competing brand  ‘H’, so they did not like derogatory references to ‘H’.  (Client team not aware of this) The price of ‘H’ was less by one-third than the MNC brand, so there was a danger of consumers considering the product benefits to be the same, equating “33% more” to an equivalent cost and so, stop buying it.

Considering all the above, it was reported that the positioning change was not advisable and communications not well received.
