1. Spot Advertising and
2. Brand Integrated Advertising
In Spot Advertising, airtime is bought across different dayparts and days of the week depending on the objectives of the campaign.It is important to consider when people are involved in a related activity or in a relevant mindset,not just the number of ears reached.The optimum schedule should take both of these into account.Whilst the most common spotlengths are 30 and 40 seconds, spots can in effect be any timelength up to 60 seconds or even longer. The longer the timelength, the more expensive the spot airtime will costs. Ultimately this boils down to the creative ie. how long does the ad need to be to get the message across as impactfully as possible.Some ads needs to be heard a couple of times for the message and brand to really register. Others build quickly but can wear out sooner whilst some ads can be heard time and time again without any risk of wearout.
The motive involved is about maintaining a constant level of awareness for a existing brand or underpinning a pre-existing long-term campaign on another form of media like ongoing TV campaign,newspaper or magazine ads.
Brand Integrated Advertising is a multi-faceted enterprise and can be achieved in many forms.Mainly of 2 types, Short term and Long term.
1. Short Term advertising is used to create buzz and talkability using short-term promotions which can be short campaigns which can elucidate and draw in customers within a short period of time such as a cross network promotion to get a new brand talked about on a huge scale.
2. Long Term advertising can be used to build awareness and brand values via long-term sponsorships by extending an existing radio partnership to include an online and print presence.
